Are you prepared to embark on your next career journey with us?Job Summary The Ramp Services Department Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising airport ramp service operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, contractual obligations, and federal regulations regarding international cargo. The role includes responsibility for inventory integrity, system staging, and distribution; assistance with monthly billing; maintaining budgets and staffing; establishing ongoing customer communication; managing monthly reports; and seeking new business opportunities.Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating ramp service personnel activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducts training sessions on procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
  • Develop and manage work schedules for optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Oversees the maintenance and proper use of ramp equipment.
  • Address and resolve operational issues and emergencies promptly.
  • Prepares and submits reports on ramp operations, incidents, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as flight operations, baggage handling, and customer service to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitors and manages the budget for the ramp services department.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in airline operations, particularly in ramp services.
  • Relevant certifications such as Airport Ramp Operations Certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of airport operations, safety regulations, and equipment handling.Preferred Skills
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Skilled in utilizing a computer and relevant office software.
  • Capable of composing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Adept at presenting information effectively and addressing inquiries from groups, managers, clients, and customers.
  • Competent in identifying issues, gathering data, establishing facts, and reaching sound conclusions.
  • Effective in communicating verbally and in writing, ensuring understanding among peers, and internal and external customers.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
