Job Description

Tremendous is the fast, free, flexible way to send bulk payouts to people in over 200 countries. 10,000+ companies ranging from mom-and-pops to Google, MIT, and United Way have sent over $1 billion, saving 15 hours a month on average.

In both our product and our workplace, we’re intentional about making work more efficient, flexible, and fulfilling. Tremendous is a fully remote, high-documentation, low-meeting culture, which means more time for what matters in both your professional and personal life.

Our customers, who include marketers, UX researchers, HR teams and nonprofits, rave about how quick and easy it is to use Tremendous — check the ratings on G2. Yet there’s a lot of complexity under the hood, including over 2,000 redemption options and plenty of banking infrastructure. This duality makes working here a fun challenge.

Tremendous is profitable and growing without outside investors. Join us before the next international offsite!

About the role

As Art Director at Tremendous, you will conceptualize and craft a variety of creative solutions across many mediums and surfaces including our website, social channels, and events — delegating to contractors as necessary. You will lead brand design efforts, partnering with our VP of Marketing and Director of Design. You will also have the support of our 3 wonderful product designers - meeting weekly to share work with fellow designers and collaborate on a universal design system.

We have a team of folks who care deeply about design. It starts at the top — our cofounders care about the details. You’ll be surrounded by smart and experienced peers, who will help you do the best work of your career.

This is a highly collaborative role. You’ll work closely with the marketing team to help us scale our design efforts, while maintaining a high bar for quality and consistency.

What we’re looking for

  • You have prior experience building scalable design systems and processes. Beyond fantastic production work, you like to improve processes along the way (e.g. creating templates).

  • You have experience driving forward decisions that are backed by sound logic. You’re comfortable pushing back (rationally) and helping to establish consensus.

  • You are a strong, clear communicator, skilled at soliciting feedback.

  • You are curious about the business goals associated with your work and feel that a deep understanding of our product is essential for telling our brand story.

  • You have experience working with an array of digital and print assets, including landing pages, ads, events, blog covers, emails, etc.

  • You are a self-motivated natural problem solver, who’s can flag opportunities for outsourcing/delegation.

  • You are comfortable providing guidance and creative direction when working with contractors or agencies.

  • You’re comfortable owning projects from kickoff through completion, and collaborating with others.

You have

  • 7+ years experience building visual brand at tech companies

  • 2+ years experience in startup environments as a brand designer/art director

  • A strong portfolio showcasing brand experience across a range of mediums

  • The ability to own projects from start to finish

  • Strong writing skills, because we’re a documentation-first company

  • Excellence in typography, color, layout, and composition

  • Strong skills around critical thinking and storytelling

  • Proficiency in Figma & Adobe Creative Suite

  • A keen understanding of design principles and current web technologies

  • Bonus points

What's cool about the role

  • You'll get to work with a top-notch team, marketing a product that our customers LOVE

  • You'll work at a company growing quickly yet sustainably. We’re profitable with plenty more opportunity ahead. That’s good news for your career growth.

  • Competitive pay, equity and benefits. The base salary for this role is $125,000 - $170,000.

  • We're a remote company. Work from wherever you want in the Americas — we have collaboration hours from around 12-3 PM Eastern time.

  • Smart people and a great culture. See our company handbook .
