Assistant Professor - (Tenure Track) Exercise Science Allied Health, Kinesiology and Sport Sciences College of Education, Health and Human Studies Primary Responsibilities: - Teach 9-12 credit hours each semester within the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and/or Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Science program and/or related programs
- Serve in an administrative role in support of assessing program outcomes and attaining and maintaining CASCE accreditation for a strength and conditioning focused program
- Engage in scholarly activity
- Advise departmental majors
- Assist with departmental recruitment events
- Engage in professional service activities
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
- Work collaboratively with faculty to strengthen programs within the department
- Recruit and retain students
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate or ABD (with doctorate degree complete by August 2025) in Strength and Conditioning, Sport Physiology and Performance, Kinesiology, Sport Science, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Applied Physiology, Human Performance or closely related field; (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
- Current (or attained by start date) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
- Potential to develop or continue an established line of scholarship; commitment to the student-scholar model is a plus
- Previous teaching experience; teaching experience in strength and conditioning, kinesiology, or biomechanics is a plus
- Experience with educational technology programs [Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas), Microsoft Office Suite, Nearpod or other pedagogy technologies, etc.]
- Record of service activity in professional organizations or university committees
- Strong interpersonal, written, electronic, and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
- Experience working in a strength and conditioning setting is a plus
