Job Summary

  • This position has a flexible work arrangement that may allow for Telework or a mixture of working in our office and Telework .
  • No more than approximately 5% travel.

The purpose of this position is to lead strategic communication activities for the Office of Inspector General’s Program Integrity Oversight Division.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement effective communications with internal stakeholders to assure accurate, timely, and effective sharing of information about the work of the Program Integrity Oversight Division.
  • Develop and implement effective communications with external stakeholders to assure accurate, timely, and effective sharing of information about the work of the Program Integrity Oversight Division.
  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for the Program Integrity Oversight Division

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years professional experience developing communications materials using multiple tools and for a variety of audiences.

Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Creating communication materials in a variety of formats.
  • Identifying gaps in communication and providing recommendations.
  • Updating and maintaining digital content.
  • Creating communications materials that tell the story of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Minnesota Statutes and Rules governing Department of Human Services (DHS) programs and operations, especially related to program integrity.
    • The mission goals, objectives and priorities of DHS, a working knowledge of department, division and office policies and procedures, and possess a thorough knowledge of all the various tasks performed in this section and how they relate to and interact with the client divisions and their personnel.
    • Project management planning, practices, theories, communications, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Develop responses to questions from legislators and legislative staff about the work of Program Integrity Oversight Division.
  • Identification of the priorities for internal and external communication.
  • Experience utilizing any software and applications: Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design software, SharePoint, MS TEAMS, MS Forms, OneNote.
  • Experience communicating effectively, clearly and proficiently with individuals at all levels in the department and with external customers in written, verbally, and other forms.
  • Skills to communicate complex technical details to non-technical people.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
