General Contractor's in the Detroit area currently seeking a full-time Preconstruction Manager, Solar to oversee the planning and preparation phases of solar construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, design/management and development, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of solar energy systems and construction processes.

Responsibilities

Analyze RFP's and specifications for contract requirements to provide summary review of overall project
Drive to achieve engineering milestones, manage customer expectations
Manage appropriate budgets, understand budget changes and provide variance feedback
Work closely with operations and solve issues as necessary
Provide design reviews and QA assessments throughout construction
Provide technical continuity, and create SOP's

Experience: Eight (8) years of commercial construction estimating, engineering or similar experience required. Solar and/or Renewable energy market experience preferreMust have a strong design/management and development background

This position requires strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

This position reports to Sterling Heights, however the ability to travel to jobsites throughout the state of Michigan will be required of this position from time to time.

CPR, 1st AID, OSHA 30, Certified Storm Water Operator preferred; Preemployment and annual Drug Tested.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

Proficiency with construction management software and tools.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a construction management or Engineering preferably Electrical Engineering;

EIT Certification with the ability to earn a P.E. license is a plus.

Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
