Canine Caretaker
Hours: Full or Part time
Purpose: To make our guests’ and clients’ experiences a safe and positive one every time.
Canine Caretaker: General Caretaker Duties:
- Welcomes every visitor/client/guest that enters the hotel.
- Maintains the overall cleanliness of the play areas
- Stocks supplies.
- Provides a safe, stimulating, and fun environment for all guests
Canine Caretaker: Daycare Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitors the structured and unstructured activities of our guests, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness.
- Follows the Daycare Pack Leader’s instructions and policies regarding safe play behaviors and training techniques.
- Communicates time-sensitive or urgent information to a Pack Leader.
- Communicates important information to incoming and/or outgoing shift team members.
- Documents important information regarding daycare guests and daycare operations in the Daycare Communications Log.
- Completes a Daycare Report Card for all daycare guests in his/her care.
- Documents information on Incident Reports when necessary, informs a Pack Leader about the incident, and assists as needed.
- Maintains the cleanliness of toys and the indoor and outdoor play parks.
Canine Caretaker: Hotel Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares hotel accommodations for all incoming overnight guests. o Follows care, feeding, medicating, cleaning and activity schedules of our canine guests.
- Takes incoming guests to assigned play parks and/or hotel rooms.
- Brings departing guests to lobby at time of check-out.
- Maintains the overall cleanliness of the hotel, including guests’ rooms, aisle ways, and storage areas.
- Documents important information regarding hotel guests and hotel operations on the guest’s individual Hotel Communications Log.
- Communicates time-sensitive or urgent information to a Pack Leader. Communicates important information to incoming and/or outgoing shift team members.
- Monitors the overall activities of our guests, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness.
- Follows written instructions regarding guests’ care.
- Completes a Hotel Report Card for every hotel guest.
- Documents information on Incident Reports when necessary, informs a Pack Leader about the incident, and assists as needed.
- Completes nightly health checks on every hotel guest.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Pet First Aid/CPR certified or willing to acquire certification.
- Dog handling experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
- Demonstrates safe working habits for oneself, other team members, the guests, and clients.
- Possesses a positive attitude and is able to keep calm when working under pressure.
- Ability to communicate with the public in a positive and educational manner.
- Previous experience in client services.
- Detail-oriented.
- Reliable and friendly team player.
- Able to take direction.
- Works well individually and as part of a team.
Working Environment
- Job duties are performed indoors and outdoors.
- Occasionally required to leave the resort for short periods of time during all seasons.
- An inherent risk of injury exists when caring for dogs. Although Digs provides thorough safety training and devices, team members may experience injuries as a result of dog bites, scratches, and/or other activity.
Work Remotely
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
