The Public Health Laboratory is hiring a Sample Receiving Technician who will provide administrative support within the Environmental Section. In this position you will perform triage, sample entry and sample delivery for all incoming sample submissions to the laboratory. You will interact with clients submitting samples and help answer questions they have about our submission forms or sample drop off. Additionally, you will help prepare sample kits for distribution to sample collectors. This includes labeling sample containers, dispensing preservatives and packing containers for shipping. This position will work to cultivate an inclusive work environment for all, with respect to diversity and equity. This position supports the providing of analytical testing results to the partners of the Minnesota Department of Health for protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of all Minnesotans.
Minimum qualifications to be assessed during the interview process:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field may substitute for one year of experience; Associates degree may substitute for six months of experience; Master's degree may substitute for 18 months; PhD may substitute for 2 years.
Transportation of up to 50 pounds.
