Heavy Civil Construction -Estimator/Project Manager

Heavy Civil Construction- Sitework Construction - Site Development – Heavy Highway-Bridge Construction

A heavy civil construction, land development and excavation site construction contractor with projects throughout the Northeastern Pennsylvania area is actively seeking to add an Estimator or Senior Estimator to the team.  Projects are commercial, industrial and public works focused and include excavation & utilities, storm & sewer Lines, site preparation, land clearing, asphalt paving, concrete, bridge, highway and roadway civil construction projects. 

Position Description

• Experience bidding & effectively estimating heavy civil-sitework construction focused projects
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
• Utilize construction management software to create estimates
• Review and interpret contract documents to identify scope of work, materials, and labor requirements
• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather relevant information
• Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and pricing strategies  
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates
• Assist in cost control efforts throughout the duration of the project
• This role includes an understanding of heavy civil site work construction, along with the ability to interact & effectively communicate with clients, county & township personnel, and team members in a professional timely and efficient manner.
• Work with project team to develop and implement strategies to achieve project pricing & cost objectives according to the estimate
• Address and manage necessary change orders with the project team
• Communicate with the project team to understand project scheduling and conflicts
• Utilize leads to help identify upcoming project opportunities

Qualifications

• Approximately five or more years (5+) of site work construction estimating/project management experience; (Civil Construction, Excavation, Site work Projects). 
• Compensation is commensurate with experience as candidates at all levels are urged to apply
• Estimating, negotiation, and bidding experience
• Proven experience as construction estimator, with strong understanding of civil construction
• Ability to read civil drawings
• Industry software experience, i.e.:  HeavyBid and Bluebeam
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• College degree a plus, not required
