Job Description

Intermediate Interior Designer

 

SLCE Architects, LLP is one of New York’s most prolific and enduring architectural firms that specializes in high-end residential, commercial, mixed-use, affordable housing, assisted and senior living facilities, public and institutional developments. We are seeking a full-time intermediate interior designer with exceptional skills willing to work in a fast phased environment and in-office setting.

Qualifications for Intermediate Interior Designer:

· Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field

· 3+ years professional experience with a focus on Residential and Commercial Interiors

· Proficient with design software such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign, & 3D Studio Max modeling with Rhino and/or SketchUp

· Strong visualization skill with V-ray or Enscape

· NCDIQ, LEED AP preferred but not necessary

· Knowledge in Revit and Bluebeam

· Advance digital modeling and rendering skills

· Ability to keep up to date with the latest design trends

· Thorough attention to detail, strong organizational, creative and presentation skills

· The ability to accept and give constructive criticism

· In-depth knowledge of furniture systems and finishes

· The ability to work under pressure and within time constraints to meet deadlines

· Demonstrable understanding of the basic principles of spatial planning

· Problem-solving skills and the ability to find a new way of doing things 

Responsibilities For Intermediate Interior Designer include but not limited to:

· Preparing client presentations under the supervision of a senior designer

· Identify, select, and specify Architectural products and vendors. Have a strong knowledge design principles and Architectural Materials and Vendors

· Produce technical and construction documentation (plans, elevations, sections,

architectural/millwork details) that illustrate the design intent and use of

materials for a range of residential and commercial projects to support design concepts 

· Develop Interior Design packages and concept/mood strategies; and successfully implement them from concept phase through project execution

· Creating visuals for client meetings in Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator

· Communicating and corresponding with vendors

· Maintaining detailed budget spreadsheets

· Produce and review project proposal specs and submittals through Construction Administration Phase

· Help coordinate details of Architectural/Interior Design projects

· Coordinate with architects and outside consultants throughout all project phases.
