Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for reviewing loan files? We're looking for a dedicated Loan File Reviewer to join our team and support the examination of lenders, servicers, residential mortgage, and consumer loans.
About the Role
As a Loan File Reviewer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and managing risk across various lending programs. Your expertise will be vital in analyzing documentation, identifying potential risks, and ensuring adherence to industry practices and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lender / Servicer Review and Audit
- Conduct thorough reviews of loan files for lenders and servicers participating in U.S. federal government residential mortgage lending programs.
- Analyze documentation and procedures to identify areas of non-compliance and potential risks.
- Portfolio Risk Management
- Assist in assessing and managing risks associated with lender and servicer portfolios.
- Support the development of strategies to mitigate risks and enhance portfolio quality.
- Industry Expertise
- Utilize your knowledge of mortgage industry practices to evaluate lender and servicer activities in origination, servicing, and related areas.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Government Lending Program Experience
- Apply your experience with government lending programs, including the USDA Single-Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program (SFHGLP), to ensure compliance.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in government lending programs and guidelines.
- Project Management Support
- Contribute to the development and execution of project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and resources.
- Statistical Analysis
- Perform basic statistical analysis to evaluate performance and risk.
- Use data-driven insights to support review findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in lender/servicer review and audit, portfolio risk management, and mortgage industry practices.
- Familiarity with government lending programs, with a focus on USDA SFHGLP.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Availability to work professional hours (9 AM - 5 PM) and additional hours as needed.
