To do this, we’re looking for a passionate Marine Systems Field Engineer with a deep commitment to sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.

About the role

This is a hands-on technical role that combines marine systems knowledge, electrical diagnostics, and technical problem-solving. • Technical Writing: Document clear work instructions for remedial actions.
  • Prototype Work: Participating in prototype development and testing.
  • Performing Sea Trials: Conducting sea trials out of Sarasota Florida according to the QA checklist

Your profile

You are an engineer with a broad technical knowledge spanning areas such as mechanics, electronics, diagnostics, and software.

You can fluently communicate in English to interact with a global customer base and team.

You are flexible and willing to travel with short notice, ensuring that customer issues are resolved promptly.

You share our core values of sustainability, equality, and diversity, and are dedicated to advancing environmentally friendly solutions.

It's a plus if you have boating experience and a deep understanding of boats and marine technology.

On top of this, we prefer that you have experience of:

  • CAN/NMEA2000 network and CAN software (eg PEAK-System PCAN or Vector CANoe/CANalyzer)
  • Reading Electrical systems (Fused and relay circuits)

  • Software functionality connected to hardware pinout.
  • Over-the-air telemetry diagnostics and software updates
  • Both reading and writing C and Python code

Site:  Sarasota, Florida

At X Shore, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status. You’re always welcome to reach out even if you don’t meet many of these qualifications. Passion and aptitude make up for a lot.

What we value

  • Ownership over both your work and the company’s success
  • Empathy for colleagues and for customers
  • Humility in problem-solving and collaboration
  • Pragmatism for navigating ambiguity quickly and sensibly
  • Inclusion of different backgrounds, opinions, cultures, etc.

Given that we work in a sometimes intense or stressful environment, it’s vital that our
values align. We’d be happy to elaborate on any or all of these during the interview process.

What you’ll get

  • Talented teammates who challenge you to be better
  • Access and often input to a wide range of business activities
