The Nurse Educator of the Operating Room will directly report to the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room. This individual must provide daily updates regarding the status of educational courses being presented to the clinical department to their superior and will be expected to collaborate with the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room to guarantee all rules and regulations are being followed. Serving as a clinical instructor to the Operating Room Nurses, the Nurse Educator of Surgical Services must be readily available to provide their assistance and guidance during any pressing and/or critical situation.
The Nurse Educator of the Operating Room will be expected to educate and provide clinical insight to the entire operating room clinical staff. Equipped with cutting-edge technology within the entire hospital, the Nurse Educator of Inpatient Surgery will be required to be well-versed in any and all medical equipment utilized within their department and hospital as needed. The Nurse Educator of Perioperative Services must be regularly informed regarding the care being administered within the unit, and must be able to highlight their team’s strengths, and pinpoint any weaknesses and provide the necessary training to address any matter.
