Lube & Wash Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Manager to oversee daily operations at both our lube shop and car wash facilities. This role combines hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and customer service excellence to ensure efficient, high-quality service at both locations.

Job Summary:

The Lube & Wash Shop Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of operations, staff supervision, and customer service at the lube shop and car wash. This includes maintaining equipment, responding to customer concerns, ensuring safety protocols, and meeting sales and profitability goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven management/supervisory experience in the automotive or service industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive maintenance and car wash operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and computer skills for operational and financial reporting.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.

Essential Job Functions:

General Management

  • Provide daily direction to staff at both locations to deliver efficient, quality service.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, inventory management, and cash controls to optimize operations.
  • Address customer complaints and ensure service excellence at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, environmental rules, and state and federal labor codes.

Shop Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train technicians to provide services such as oil changes, tire checks, and fluid replacements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate service completion by monitoring workflow.
  • Perform and oversee inventory management, ensuring proper tools and supplies are available.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with operational standards.

Leadership and Staff Development

  • Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff performance at both locations.
  • Hold regular safety meetings and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
  • Promote teamwork and ensure consistent communication among all personnel.
  • Act as a role model for professionalism, service excellence, and compliance with company policies.

Customer Service

  • Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt customer service at all times.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
  • Recommend services and explain options clearly to enhance customer satisfaction.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit required paperwork on time, including financial and operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, invoices, discount codes, and inventory.
  • Monitor sales performance and take action to meet or exceed goals.
  • Manage labor costs and staffing to ensure operational efficiency.

Facility Maintenance and Safety

  • Perform regular inspections of equipment and facilities, addressing any deficiencies.
  • Maintain grounds and buildings to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and uphold safe work habits for all staff.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Ensure timely, high-quality service delivery at both locations.
  • Maintain well-trained, efficient, and motivated teams.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals.
  • Ensure timely purchasing of supplies and adequate inventory levels.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Uphold company policies, safety standards, and environmental rules.
  • Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork.

Working Conditions:

This role operates in a garage and outdoor environment with exposure to heavy equipment, slick surfaces, and varying temperatures. Limited travel may be required.

Scope of Position:

The Lube & Wash Shop Manager reports to the Regional Manager and has direct supervisory responsibilities for all personnel at the lube shop and car wash locations. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
