Quality Manager - Vonore, TN

Reports to Plant Manager

The Quality Manager plans and administers the Quality Process and department team member resources to ensure customer satisfaction and timely achievement of business goals within the plant. The position will oversee the department team members’ training, compliance, and performance, in addition to ensuring that Customer Quality and Government standards are met. The Quality Manager will also develop and maintain partnership-style relationships with customers and suppliers to better understand the needs and requirements to produce products at a competitive level.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the company's Quality Policy
  • Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2016 and ISO- 9001:2015 standards as well as customer defined quality systems and requirements
  • Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability
  • In conjunction with Corporate Quality, develop internal quality control standards for the plant
  • Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates
  • Ensure effective quality training for all team members
  • Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the Company
  • Develop and maintain a partnership-style relationship with customers and suppliers
  • Work closely with other managers to address the day to day problems and improve product and process quality
  • Prepare department budgets and forecasting as necessary
  • Occasionally travel to the assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel
  • Ensure quality policies, procedures and initiatives are compliant with Company standards
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports depicting the Key Performance Indicators and progress toward targets
  • Ensure all government-required testing, reporting and recordkeeping is completed as required by FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC, and other country regulations
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or another technical field required
  • IATF Auditor Certification is required
  • IATF Lead Auditor Certification is preferred

Working Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment - plant or facility
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Total Quality Concepts, and Six Sigma
  • Possess a robust understanding of the IATF and ISO standards and their implementation in an automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 facility
  • Strong AIAG standards experience
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Off-schedule hours may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis
  • Excellent Analytical Skills
  • Interpersonal skills appropriate for interaction within all levels of an organization
  • Ability and willingness to demonstrate and uphold the company's Values of Safety, Customer Focused, Teamwork, Excellence and Trust
