Job Description


Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), Mission Technologies is looking for an individual to support security functions at the customer location. The primary function will be to serve as an escort for uncleared individuals into classified areas. It is a part-time position and hours are flexible but will vary from week to week.



Essential Job Responsibilities


Guards, patrols, and polices industrial premises to protect property and staff against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. Periodically tours premises; examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure; observes departing staff to guard against thefts of company property; inspects equipment and stores to ascertain if tampering has occurred; reports irregularities; sounds alarm; and permits authorized persons to enter property. Examines credentials of persons desiring entrance to restricted areas. May be required to direct traffic on company premises. May use force of arms to carry out assignments.



Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience with certification in assigned are required.
• Minimum SECRET security clearance required with ability to obtain TOP SECRET security clearance with enhanced security checks.
• Must be able to walk back and forth throughout large facility on a regular basis.
  

Preferred Requirements

• Escorts visitors to workspaces, rest rooms, and in transit while obtaining tools and materials.
• Observe visitors outside in the vicinity of entrances to restricted spaces.
• Communicate with visitors, Hii personnel and government personnel, as required, to facilitate accomplishment of work.
• Assist with signing in visitors and contractors to the facility.
• Verify proper badge has been issued to visitor(s).
• Maintain positive control of visitors throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb multiple stairs throughout the day.
• Must be able to bed, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs
  

Physical Requirements


May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
