This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Refunds Unit seeks a candidate who is organized, flexible, and committed to quality customer service in a team environment, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. The SMVT will provide guidance and direction to a team of employees processing vehicle registration credit chargebacks, refund claims, and Vehicle License Fee refund requests received from field offices, via mail and internet. Research and resolve the most complex customer cases and respond to internal and external customers. You will be trained to monitor workflows, distribute, and track workload completion and accuracy, ensure the work is processed in a timely manner, and train new employees. Compile reports, develop and implement procedures, appropriately interpret, and apply laws, regulations and procedures, and act as a leadsperson. Desired skills: effective analytical skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; and knowledge of PC, ORACLE, RUMBA, VR Registration Programs, detail oriented; able to work effectively with the public, peers, and management; a positive demeanor; and able to demonstrate professionalism. May be required to work overtime.
