Role Description: We are seeking a Tax Senior to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for performing tax engagements with minimum supervision, but with Tax Supervisor, Manager and Partner support. This role requires direct client contact and relationship management. The ideal candidate will review complex federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, and Individuals.
This role requires applying technical knowledge and research skills while working as part of a team with a focus on continual improvement, Staff mentorship, coaching and training.
Responsibilities: - Supervise and mentor Interns, Staff Accountants
- Maintain an understanding of the business and the Staff/Senior Staff responsibilities
- Review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, plus research and client contact
- Develops advanced technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels, and has ability to complete complex returns
- Strong involvement in Staff level training and development
- Works as an effective team member to complete projects and assigned tasks
- Builds working relationships at peer and client level
- Effectively documents work
- Identifies and solves task issues as well as tracking task progress in a timely and organized manner
- Demonstrates an active interest in the business world by keeping abreast of market trends and business developments including networking
- Assists in proposal development and research gathering as requested
- Participates in office wide initiatives - recruitment, marketing etc.
- Actively pursues self-development opportunities in line with the competency model
- Builds strong team relationship skills
- Prepare returns as needed
- Assist in the development and execution of department's various training programs
- Set and monitor staff scheduling and workloads
- Encourage the continuous technical and soft-skill development of staff by providing timely feedback on engagements
- Participate in recruitment events including Career Fairs, High School visits and firm Open House events

Required Experience: - 3+ years of progressive CPA firm experience
- BS in Accounting, MSA or MBA preferred
- Ability to adjust schedule based on peak workload times in the department
