Job Description

Position Title: PLC Programmer

Compensation: $50 per hour

Duration: 9month contract with potential for conversion

Location: Hybrid requiring 3 days onsite but could be more depending on production floor

Overview:

Our client is seeking a PLC Programmer to design program test and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems for industrial automation in plastics manufacturing. This role involves working on the production floor to ensure effective and efficient operation of automated machinery as well as integrating realtime data from machines into the ERP system. Strong collaboration with crossfunctional teams providing technical support and staying updated on plastics industry trends are all key in this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ladder logic control systems and industrial automation within the plastics industry. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence at least 3 days a week.

Requirements:

• Education: Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience Level: Midsenior with a minimum of 5 years of PLC programming experience in industrial automation particularly within the plastics manufacturing industry.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic structured text and function block diagram.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC hardware/software platforms like AllenBradley Siemens and Schneider Electric.
  • Familiarity with OPC UA Codesys and machinetomachine communication protocols for data exchange.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation (highly preferred).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with HMI SCADA Modbus and Raspberry Pi is a plus.
• Experience integrating control systems with ERP platforms such as IQMS/Delmia is a plus.
