Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the implementation and integration of third-party applications as part of the Epic Electronic Health Records (EHR) implementation program. This role involves coordinating and communicating effectively with various teams to ensure smooth project execution. You will be working closely with key stakeholders and project management teams to drive success and ensure that the project meets its objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the EHR Program Director, PMO Manager, Application Manager, and other project managers to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
Support the EHR PMO Manager and Application Manager in developing business cases for approval by the Information Technology Board and Governance.
Facilitate communication and coordination between the client, the Office of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Department of Information Technology, and the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).
Bring your expertise in Health Information Technology (HIT) projects, especially with clinical information systems and healthcare application interoperability, to the table.
Apply PMI standards to manage projects and ensure adherence to Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Create and maintain comprehensive project plans using Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint, ensuring adherence to the state and client IT project management methodology.
Manage project scope, schedule, and quality in specific application areas.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of IT project management, including budgeting, costing, quality assurance processes, and standards.
Work closely with procurement teams to manage IT procurements and vendor/contract management.
Guide and mentor team members, providing insight into project issues, key success factors, and lessons learned.
Set clear expectations for team members and ensure that resources are effectively organized.
Identify and manage potential risks and issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are documented and tracked.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Project Management Experience: 7+ years of experience in managing large-scale projects, ideally within the healthcare or IT sectors.
EHR/Health IT Training: 6+ years of experience working with Electronic Health Records and Health IT projects.
Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to lead teams, manage competing objectives, and clearly communicate project updates and requirements to stakeholders.
Organization & Coordination: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to sequence tasks logically and maintain project schedules.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities to work across administrative, management, and clinical environments.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Knowledge of State Government Processes: Familiarity with state government culture, personnel, and processes is a plus.
Methodologies: Proficient in PMI standards, and experienced with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies for project management.
Vendor Management: Experience with IT procurements and vendor/contract management.
