Job Description
Overview A Research Assistant I position is currently available in Dr. Vakhtin's laboratory at The Mind Research Network. The Research Assistant will work on studies examining various neurocognitive conditions, utilizing neuroimaging and neurocognitive assessment methods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) study participant recruitment, scheduling, and follow-ups 2) study data collection, entry, and curation, as well as 3) careful development of and adherence to study regulatory and safety procedures. These responsibilities involve working in the MRI environment as well as collection of biological samples (e. g. blood).
Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Individuals with a bachelor's degree in psychology, or pursuing a degree in a related field are preferred. Those with experience and interest in neuroscience, clinical psychology, and/or neuroimaging are strongly encouraged to apply. Individuals with current experience in neuroimaging and MEG data collection are preferred.
Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications Experience in research involving human participants is preferred. In addition, strong candidates would have experience with using the Linux environment, performing statistical anayles, and programming using languages such as MATLAB, Python, and R. Experience in collection of biological samples (e. g. phlebotomy) and their processing would also be considered a strength.
Physical Requirements Work is performed in a dry laboratory environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 20 pounds. May interact with research participants.

Salary Salary is commensurate with experience + $500 sign-on bonus.
