Job Overview
Express Employment is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join a growing tax team in Streator, IL!

Position: Seasonal Tax Preparer
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr (Training) | $19.00/hr (Post-Training)
Location: Streator, IL

Duties

• Prepare and file taxes for individuals and businesses.
• Review financial details to find ways to save on taxes or manage liabilities.
• Use accounting software like Sage to make sure reports are accurate.
• Advise clients on tax-related topics like deductions, credits, and rules.
• Stay updated on tax laws to ensure everything is done correctly.
• Work with clients to collect the documents needed for tax filing.
• Respond quickly to client questions and provide great customer service.
• Promote other financial services that could help clients.

Experience

• Experience in public accounting or tax preparation is a plus.
• Using financial and accounting software is a plus.
• Strong skills in analyzing and understanding financial data.
• Great customer service skills, focused on keeping clients happy.
• Knowing accounting principles is helpful.
• Experience in selling financial services is a bonus.
