A leader in hospitality design in Chicago's West Loop is looking to add a Technical Designer to their team! Job Description: Executes project deliverables in the time allotted per project schedule as coordinated by the project manager Coordinates documentation that captures design decisions while holistically addressing the 3D space; from functionality, alignment with programmatic needs, and how materials, volumes, and performance of the space all come together Is equipped with a basic knowledge of spatial requirements, program requirements, design, and construction standards Creates design documentation during Schematic through the Construction Administration phase under oversight of the project manager Understanding of product data and commercial requirement standards (i.e. durability, installation methods, appropriate application, and code compliance) Coordinates design documentation to abide by standard construction methods and design detailing for implementation within design documentation Coordinates and executes custom furniture and fixture details to align with design direction as directed by project manager Reviews outside consultants drawings (ie architect, drafting, millwork, and custom furniture) Ability to assist in the creation of redlines Assists project manager and/or Job Captain with shop drawing review, submittals, and RFIs Qualifications: Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design UX/UI backgrounds are not applicable Technical documentation experience at an architecture or interior design firm 2+ years of post-graduate experience This does not include internship experience or experience outside of US standard Interior architecture experience working on hospitality projects (restaurants or hotel amenity spaces) AutoCAD proficiency for construction documentation Ability to read and interpret renderings in SketchUp About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
